Family Life

Meet our paw-some pet pals From biscuit-loving escape artists to sunbathing chickens and shoulder-surfing reptiles, our furry and feathered friends bring joy, personality and plenty of laughs. Here are some of the adorable pets stealing hearts right now. Biscuit Breed: Unknown Age: 5 Sex: Male Biscuit is a certified treat enthusiast with a serious love for Bobtail biscuits. Soft toys are his happy place, but don’t be fooled by his cuddly side. Biscuit has mastered the art of opening doors. He stands upright, reaches for the handle and lets himself in wherever he pleases. Privacy is optional in his world. Mojo Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Age: 2 Sex: Male Mojo is a picky eater who turns his nose up at most snacks, but home-cooked meals win him over every time. What he lacks in snack enthusiasm, he makes up for in affection. He lives for hugs and kisses and enjoys long walks, especially along the ocean. He has no fear of water and happily runs straight into the sea. Ghiodorah Breed: Bearded Dragon Age: 4 Sex: Male Ghiodorah is calm, affectionate and loves being close to his human. Blueberries and super worms are his favourite treats, and his ideal day involves chilling on his owner’s shoulder or chest, soaking up attention and warmth. Lilly Breed: Chicken Age: 6 Sex: Female Lilly enjoys the slower things in life. She spends her days lazing in the sun with her housemates, Shadow the dog and Luna the cat. Her favourite foods include eggs and, surprisingly, chicken curry. Yes, we know how strange that sounds. Summer Breed: Jack Russell Age: 2 Sex: Female Summer’s story began with a rocky start. At just five weeks old, her mother refused to feed her, and her human stepped in to hand-feed her puppy formula. Introduced through a neighbour, it was love at first sight. Despite her small size, Summer confidently holds her own in a household dominated by two German Shepherd “big sisters” she absolutely adores. Max and Hunter Breed: Max: Terrier Hunter: Jack Russell Age: 2 and 4 These two are inseparable, especially at nap time. Hunter finds comfort in being as close as possible to Max, often lying half on top of him and occasionally shoving his backside into Max’s face. Max, surprisingly, seems perfectly content with this arrangement, much to their owner’s amusement. Maggie Breed: Pitbull Age: 3 Maggie is a three-legged rescue from the SPCA and a true inspiration. She loves doggy biltong, biscuits, carrots and cucumber. Walks and belly rubs are her favourite things, and she never turns down a game of fetch. Despite having only three legs, Maggie is active, determined and full of life. These paw-some companions prove that pets come in all shapes, sizes and species, but they all share one thing in common: they make life better, funnier and a whole lot warmer.
