Got a four-legged superstar at home? It might be time to practise those tricks, fluff that coat and get ready to strut your stuff.
The South African Water Warriors are hosting their Community Dog Show Fundraiser in Goodwood on Saturday, 5 September 2026, promising a morning of proud prances, silly tricks, fabulous costumes and plenty of wagging tails.
Best of all, 100% of the funds raised will go directly towards supporting the NPO and its community projects.
That means every entry, sweet treat, coffee and rosette sold on the day will contribute towards the organisation’s work.
When and where is the Community Dog Show?
The show starts at 8am sharp on Saturday, so dog owners are encouraged to arrive early to register.
Date: Saturday, 5 September 2026
Time: 8am
Venue: Field across from Filia School, corner of De Villiers Street and Milton Road, Goodwood
Bring your dog, family, friends and your best cheering voice for a morning dedicated to pups and their people.
Think your dog is a superstar?
It costs R50 per entry per category, and dogs are welcome to enter one or several categories.
There is something for almost every kind of pooch:
- Cutest Puppy: For those irresistible puppy eyes you can’t say no to
- Best Dressed: Tutus, bowties, superhero capes and more
- Best Trick: Sit, shake, roll over, play dead and impress the judges
- Best Rescue: Celebrating adopted heroes and their second, or sometimes third, chances
- Best Trained: For the pups who have been listening in class
- Golden Oldie: Celebrating those wise dogs with a little grey around the muzzle
- Owner-Dog Lookalike: For owners who know they look like their dogs and love it
- Best Pedigree: A chance for purebred pups to shine
Could your dog become Grand Champion?
There is also one big title up for grabs: Grand Champion.
The title will go to the dog with the highest overall points after participating across multiple categories.
So if your pup is cute, clever, stylish and knows a trick or two, entering several categories could put them in the running.
How to enter your dog
Entry costs R50 per category.
To register in advance, WhatsApp 082 076 1993 to request an official entry form.
The first 50 entries will also receive a free goodie bag.
Didn’t register beforehand? Dogs can still be entered on the day, with cash and card payments accepted.
Supporting the South African Water Warriors
Founded in 2018, the South African Water Warriors supports communities in need by collecting donations from members of the public and businesses through volunteer donation stations.
The organisation distributes emergency supplies, including water, food and fodder, directly to areas affected by severe drought.
Saturday’s dog show gives families and their pets a chance to have some fun while helping raise funds for the organisation and its community projects.
So grab the lead, pack the treats and get those tails wagging. Goodwood is going to the dogs this Saturday, and this time that’s a good thing.
