After a decade-long break, the National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA) is bringing back its official Charity Golf Day, giving golfers and businesses the opportunity to support animal welfare while enjoying a day on the course.
The fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, 20 August 2026, at Benoni Country Club in Gauteng, with all proceeds going towards the NSPCA’s nationwide animal protection and rescue work.
A fundraiser with a purpose
Billed as a day of golf, prizes and community spirit, the event aims to raise vital funds to help the NSPCA continue preventing cruelty and protecting animals across South Africa.
The event also marks the return of one of the organisation’s flagship fundraisers after a 10-year absence.
Award-winning venue
This year’s event will be hosted at Benoni Country Club, one of Gauteng’s leading sporting and family destinations.
The club was recognised in the Best of Ekurhuleni 2025 Awards, winning Best Sports Club/Venue, Best Golf Course and Best Country Club.
Fourball packages available
Golfers can enter as a team of four for R4,000 per fourball.
The package includes:
- Green fees for four players
- Two golf carts
- A halfway house voucher
- Dinner and the prize-giving ceremony after play
Sponsorship opportunities for businesses
Businesses can also support the event through Tee Box Sponsorships, providing an opportunity to showcase their brand while contributing to animal welfare.
For R2,000 per hole, sponsors will receive:
- Branding at their sponsored tee box on the day
- Recognition across the NSPCA’s social media platforms, reaching a community of more than 120,000 followers
The NSPCA is also appealing for prize donations to help make the raffle and prize-giving a success.
Supporting South Africa’s animals
The NSPCA does not receive government funding and relies entirely on donations to continue its work.
It is the only organisation in South Africa mandated to enforce the Animal Protection Act nationally, carrying out investigations into animal cruelty while monitoring livestock transport, abattoirs, laboratories and the exotic pet trade.
Funds raised through the golf day will directly support the organisation’s frontline animal protection, rescue and welfare work across the country.
