As winter sets in, conditions become tougher for stray dogs and cats trying to survive on the streets.
A community run in Sea Point is giving animal lovers a simple way to help.
Walk, run and bring your dog
The Kudos to the Cause event, hosted by JARRYDS, takes place on Thursday, 30 April in support of TEARS Animal Rescue.
Participants can run or walk a 5km route along the promenade, and dogs are welcome.

Why it matters
Winter is one of the hardest times for stray animals.
Cold weather, limited shelter and scarce food increase the risk for animals already living in vulnerable conditions.
Supporting organisations like TEARS helps provide rescue, care and medical treatment.
Every step counts
JARRYDS will donate R50 to TEARS for every participant.
You also get a free coffee after the run.
This is the fourth event in a six-part series, with close to R10 000 already raised.
