TEARS Animal Rescue has officially launched its new WhatsApp Vet Shop, giving pet owners across Cape Town an easy way to shop for their pets while supporting animals in need.
The launch comes as the organisation’s new physical Vet Shop and Clinic enters its final stages of development.
Shop for Your Pets via WhatsApp
Rather than waiting for the physical store to open, TEARS has introduced the WhatsApp Vet Shop to make pet products immediately available to the community.
“We’ve been working hard to bring a vet shop to our community and we didn’t want to keep people waiting. The WhatsApp Vet Shop means we can get started straight away,” says TEARS Operations Manager Mandy Store.
Popular Pet Brands Available
The TEARS Vet Shop stocks a range of trusted pet brands, including:
- Rogz
- Hills
- Montego
- Lekkerbarkey
Customers can shop for:
- Dry pet food

- And more
Easy Ordering and Collection
Ordering through the WhatsApp Vet Shop is simple.
Customers can browse the catalogue, place an order via WhatsApp and collect their purchases from a TEARS collection point.
Collection locations include:
- TEARS Kennels
- TEARS Cattery
- TEARS Thrift Stores
Collections are available seven days a week from 9:00am to 4:30pm.
A courier delivery option is also available for customers who live further away, at an additional cost.
Every Purchase Supports Animal Welfare
According to Store, every purchase made through the Vet Shop contributes directly to TEARS’ rescue and welfare efforts.
“Every purchase made through the TEARS Vet Shop helps support our animal rescue and welfare programmes,” she says.
“When you shop with TEARS, you’re not only providing for your own pets, you’re helping vulnerable animals receive the care they deserve.”
Shop and Support a Good Cause
The new WhatsApp Vet Shop offers pet owners a convenient way to purchase essential pet products while helping support TEARS’ ongoing work caring for vulnerable animals across Cape Town.
Pet owners can start shopping by adding 063 855 5137 to their contacts and sending a WhatsApp message.
