Art lovers and animal lovers are invited to an evening of creativity, compassion and fundraising when TEARS Animal Rescue hosts its annual rePAWposed Art Auction at Noordhoek Art Point Gallery on Friday, 31 July 2026.
Now in its fourth year, the popular event returns with a collection of one-of-a-kind artworks created to raise funds for TEARS Animal Rescue.
Giving forgotten art a second chance
Inspired by the idea of “repurposing”, around 40 artworks donated to the TEARS charity shop have been transformed by local artists into entirely new creations.
Some of the pieces have even received a helping paw from rescue dogs.
Many of the original paintings had spent years overlooked in the charity shop before being reimagined into meaningful works of art, reflecting the second chance that TEARS gives to the animals it rescues.
An evening of creativity and compassion
“We are so excited to be hosting this stunningly successful event again!” says TEARS Animal Rescue spokesperson Tinka Shapiro.
“Anyone who has been to this over the last few years will agree that it is an evening of fun, much laughter and a chance to pick up something beautiful for a very good cause.”
Shapiro says local artists were invited to select a previously loved artwork from the TEARS charity store and give it a new lease on life.
“Each artist brings their own distinctive style, imagination, vision and creativity, transforming the piece into something entirely unique, giving it a new story while honouring its past.”
“This is not your average art exhibition. It’s whimsical and thought-provoking, surprising and a little bit cheeky.”

The artworks will be on display at Noordhoek Art Point Gallery from Sunday, 26 July, before going under the hammer on Friday, 31 July.
The auction begins at 6pm at Art Point, 16 Noordhoek Main Road, behind the ‘Smarties’ wall.
All proceeds from the auction will go towards supporting the work of TEARS Animal Rescue.
